Without a doubt, Muppet Christmas Carol! It brings a smile to my face every time I watch it. Fortunately it’s my husbands favourite one too.
I’ve been married for 30 years and have three grown up children and one delightful grandson. We were empty nesters for a while and then my youngest daughter moved back home after uni. And we have an excitable cockapoo called Myla.
I love the older generations, and coming alongside people living with dementia. I think it stems from visiting an older lady called Mrs Smith with my mum when I was a child. She plied me with homemade lemonade and cakes! I have spent my career up till now working with older people, firstly as a nurse and then in charities, culminating with me starting the Christian charity Embracing Age 10 years ago. I handed that over to a new CEO in the summer, but older people and those living with dementia are still close to my heart.
Not much, to be honest. Perhaps that I am a published author. I have written a book about reimagining ministry amongst the older generations (which actually isn’t very surprising given my answer to the last question!)
I have spent the last 25 years working in roles that have been pioneering, so I am excited to be establishing this new role for CFF, supporting members in this next phase, as we develop a membership structure and grow sustainably. I find myself reflecting on what is distinctive about Christian funders – obviously being Christian, but thinking beyond that to what tangible difference it makes. I am keen to hear members’ thoughts and reflections on this over the coming weeks and months.
