I am sharing this internal news update for anyone following the Listed Places of Worship Scheme:
It has just been announced in the House of Commons Westminster Hall debate that the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme will continue for one year from March 2025 with a cap of £25k per place of worship.
The total amount available will be capped at £23m (last year £29m was spent).
The DCMS received more than three hundred letters on the topic, and some three thousand letters were sent to MPs.
The one year extension and cap for individual places of worship will undoubtedly cause some consternation within the church – not least those with large scale projects.
So far the only press coverage I can find is here: £23M Boost for Restoration of Listed Worship Sites | Mirage News
